Aussois is a mountain resort close to the Italian border. Access is through Modane, a small city in the valley some 10 kms below Aussois.

Getting there

The main access to Aussois is by the train station of Modane, which is in the train line from Paris to Milano. A simple travel plan is therefore to combine plane and train, by arriving to the airport of Milano-Malpensa or Torino in Italy, or Paris-CDG or Lyon in France, and then take a TGV to Modane. There are direct connections between these towns and Modane every day.

• Lyon (France) + train to Modane

There are train connections from the cities and airports of Paris (Charles-de-Gaulle), Lyon, Torino and Milano (Malpensa). The train from Paris to Torino/Milano stops at Modane. A Paris-Modane travel takes about 4 hours (for direct trains from Paris-Gare-de-Lyon to Modane) and should cost 80-90 € one way. Access via Torino is shorter (1 hr 20 mns) and cheaper (currently around 20 € one way).

From the train station of Modane, you can reach the Aussois village by taxi (20min., 40€ roughly), or by shuttle bus at the bus station close to the train (frequent departures). A shuttle bus service will be organized on June 20th at 2pm and 19:45pm for the arrival of Paris trains.
